Live API
Opening soonRead TikTok right now: six endpoints for creators, videos and sounds. Each call returns TikTok's own JSON, unmodified.
Use the Data API first: it is cheaper and covers billions of rows. Use Live for what the warehouse doesn't have yet, or when you need it this second. Every endpoint is a GET with query parameters and your API key as a bearer token. A successful call costs 2 credits from the same balance; errors and empty answers are free.
Things that trip people up
- Ids are bigger than JavaScript numbers. Read them as strings (
id_str,uid). - Video duration is in milliseconds; sound duration is in seconds.
- Cover and play URLs expire within hours. Store the id, not the URL.
